I cannot apologise enough to the customers who are affected by the lack of Car Boot Sales at Newquay. I fear there will not be enough space to operate our sales with the possibility of 4/500 cars looking for parking spaces! There could be traffic chaos so we will probably have to wait till the end of May to ascertain if the ground conditions are suitable. Meeting at NEWQUAY useless!!! A further meeting at NEWQUAY to try to solve Public Safety issues was overshadowed by the introduction of a Fairground who will want the grounds for at least 3 weekends. This is untenable from Car Boots Cornwall point of view as we are not prepared to share the selling fields nor parking which we have established rights and planning permission for over 18 years. I am visiting the location again on THURSDAY to ascertain the actual space they will use to see if CBC can share the grounds, this is very unlikely! Following customers complaints on Sunday we have decided that under no circumstances are dogs allowed into the SELLING areas. At most of our locations customers may exercise their dogs in the car park but please USE POO BAGS. Better still leave your dogs at home to scare off any potential 'burglars' Know wot I mean? The situation is getting that bad with so many genuine complaints we may well enforce a DOG BAN at all of our locations like the shops in your towns and High Streets. At our request Cornwall Council visited the proposed site for our Car Boot Sales as we had concerns for Public Safety due to the fact that most of the surrounding land is being developed for housing so we are virtually on a building site. The visit was extremely useful and we have advised our Landlords of the various suggestions and recommendations in advance of a site meeting this Friday. Hayle Rugby Club charges to sell from Facebook;
Several people have complained about the new prices to sell at Hayle in particular the small and larger vans and I fell their complaints are justified, I also think that the rest of their charges are justified. They have recently introduced a 50p charge at their gate level with ourselves however the Rugby Club is a registered charity unlike Car Boots Cornwall which is a private business but we have to absorb rents and Landlords fees and toilet costs from our income unlike the Rugby Club which owns it's own land and has it's own toilets (such as they are)…

Updated 6.00 pm 04/05/2016 The fields offered to us for our Car Boot Sales at the former Newquay Circus Fields have not been prepared similar to our other locations by our Landlords. We are far from happy with the condition's of the selling area but our main criticism is the 'stubble field' offered for parking. I invite any drivers who wish to see for themselves to drive into the Morrison's roundabout entrance into the lane where on the left you will see houses being built. Three weeks late the decision to return to Mitchell on Saturday was difficult due the overnight rain and it was still raining when I made the decision that it WILL go ahead. We had 1300 visits to this website plus countless on Facebook and our mobiles recorded over 140 calls all seeking the ‘It’s on’ message! There is a regular John who sells tools at some of our sales, he sells from a large blue van. At Mitchell he noticed someone had left a wallet on his stall so he immediately brings it to me, we check the contents cash & credit cards and I take responsibility of the wallet. The owner later realizes he has lost his wallet and eventually the two are reunited at Wadebridge Car Boot where the owner was truly delighted at the fact that all of the contents were correct including his really expensive return rail ticket back to up country…Page 25 of 109
